Ensuring the highest quality is a top priority at Park
We speak to Systems Manager, Bob Hill.
“Having been at Park for three years now, my role is to assess and implement quality management and health and safety systems across the company. The role is very diverse and, essentially, I monitor processes to ensure that our people and products comply or accord with company and industry standards.
One of my current objectives is managing and overseeing several health and safety initiatives. As a way of reducing any work place related accidents, we roll out a programme of self-audit and risk assessments, so they can be measured against previous audits.
As a result, we have reduced incidents within the branches dramatically. In particular, we look to target high-risk areas such as the warehouse. Should an incident occur, a tool box talk takes place on site to inform the team what happened, why it happened and how to prevent it. We also have a training file which employees on the talk are requested to sign.
Over the last few months we have all worked very hard to achieve ISO9001 which is aimed at meeting customer standards and the ISO14001 accreditation, the world’s most recognised standard to help assess the status of an organisation’s environmental management system against defined requirements. Everything we do is transparent within the business, so a training plan is sent to all employees with our goals and objectives.
I work closely with our five branch managers and the teams within our warehouses to ensure that our information and findings are shared and communicated throughout the teams and that we are lean and always looking to improve.”
