Studious, Ernest’s Place / Rennys Lane, Durham
Vaughan Engineering worked in collaboration with Park Lighting Design team to develop the design and supply of a lighting solution to a new-build block of student accommodation on Rennys Lane, Durham.
Park worked alongside Collegiate/Studious, Vaughan Engineering, to design and supply lighting across the 5-storey building. LED lighting was used throughout. Downlights were fitted in the corridors and bedrooms and presence detectors were installed along the corridors, helping to further reduce running costs.
The lighting to the bar and restaurant was much more contemporary, with a range of track lighting and decorative pendants. This offered a more ambient atmosphere for the social spaces and gave it a much more contemporary feel and a non-traditional LED lamp solution for energy efficiency. Lighting within plant rooms and ancillary areas were a solution of low energy LED lighting in various forms, emergency lighting solutions were of the self-test variety for ease of maintenance.
“I have worked with Park for a couple of years now and its service goes above and beyond what you ask for” said Keith Mason, project engineer at Vaughan Engineering. “I couldn’t fault its services and that is a credit to the team. They are friendly and always support the supplier and distributor, as well as the end user their exceptional customer service always produces a project that is delivered within the projects program and budgetary needs without compromising on quality.”
