Cleveland College Art and Design, Middlesbrough
Hepple Engineering Services Ltd, worked alongside the Park Lighting Design team throughout the Cleveland College project. As a new build art and design centre, spanning three storeys, the building required lighting both internally and externally.
A variety of luminaire types were selected for use in the various rooms, most of which utilising LED technology with dimming capability. During the construction process there were several changes to the building including ceiling types, meaning we had to adapt our proposal to suit. An example being suspended luminaires changing to surface/recessed or vice versa. Specialist lighting was required for several areas within the building, including the art galleries, dark rooms and the building façade.
When building the lighting control system, we worked closely with the consultant ensuring all aspects of the specification was achieved. The building was also fitted with a static inverter system with all emergency lighting fed from one central battery. Again, we liaised with both the consultant and the central battery manufacturer to ensure the correct system was supplied.
Hepple Engineering: “The work at Cleveland College is another example of a job well done by Park. We continue our partnership with the lighting design team quite simply because they produce good quality work, always deliver and have not let us down.”
